8 Celebrities That You Might Not Know Are Nerds

Vin Diesel

Vin Diesel started playing Dungeon and Dragons at a young age, and as he started getting more and more acting gigs he continued to play. As he became well known as an  actor they asked Vin if he would write the foreword to Thirty Years of Adventure: A Celebration of Dungeons & Dragons. Diesel even has a tattoo of his character name on his stomach. But not only does he love playing Dungeons and Dragons he has his own Video Game company. Tigon Games is known for making games based on movies, and movie characters. Best known for the games based on Riddick.

Mila Kunis

Mila is a huge World Of Warcraft nerd, or she was. She quit the game because she was putting to much time into it. Before she quit, she was known as CaptainPicard and she was the leader of a group of raiders! Another one of Mila’s favorite things, if it wasn’t obvious from her World Of Warcraft name, is Star Trek!

Leonardo Dicaprio

Leonardo Dicaprio is an avid toy collector. From Star Wars, to He-Man he has an amazing collection of toys. Occasionally he will put a few up for auction. But the one that the internet seems to like to bring up is the rare 1982 He-Man action figure that Leo used to own that was up for sale for $9,000.

Tom Hanks

Tom Hanks

Tom Hanks is on this list for a more interesting reason. He doesn’t have an obsession with a TV Show, or an addiction to a game, he collects…….Typewriters. He loves vintage, antique Typewriters. Most of the Typewriters that he collects are in working condition, and has been known to take a few out on the road with him when he goes out for work. Tom has even developed his own app that makes it sound like you’re typing with a typewriter. It’s called Hanx Writer.

Nicolas Cage

Nicolas Cage is obsessed with comic books. He even had the most expensive and hard to find comic in the world, Action Comics #1, which he sold at auction for over 2 million dollars. Nicolas Cage isn’t his real name, his real name is Nicolas Coppola. He took the last name Cage from Luke Cage. Nick has even gone as far as naming his son Kal-El, which is Superman’s birth name.

Stephen Colbert

Stephen Colbert has a serious obsession with Lord Of The Rings. If you even search his name and LOTR together so many articles come up. Including Stephen Colbert’s 8 Best Lord of the Rings Geek-Outs, Stephen Colbert Lectures Scientists About ‘Lord Of The Rings’, and even Stephen Colbert Finally Gets to Flex His Lord of the Rings Knowledge to Save a Man From Prison. So, I’m going to say that he has a wee bit of an obsession.

Natalie Portman

Natalie graduated from high school with a 4.0 GPA (she actually missed the premiere of A Phantom Menace to study for her high school finals. She went to Harvard University, and has had two separate papers published in scientific journals. If that doesn’t scream nerd, I don’t know what does.

Dolph Lundgren

Dolph has had the opportunity to play both The Punisher, and He-Man back in the 80’s, but something you might not know? Dolph has an I.Q. of 160. He graduated from the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden, and got his masters in chemical engineering from the University of Sydney. He even got a scholarship from MIT but decided to follow his acting career instead. Not to mention the fact that he knows five different languages (French, German, Swedish, English and Italian).
